P&O Azura Balcony Cabin Tour C609: A Cozy Stay on Deck 10
During our unforgettable Valentine’s Cruise through the Canary Islands and Madeira in February 2023, we had the pleasure of staying in Cabin C609 on the Canada Deck (Deck 10) aboard the P&O Azura. Let’s jump right in and explore our comfortable home at sea:
Location: Canada Deck (Deck 10) – Cabin C609
We absolutely loved the location of our cabin! Situated on Deck 10, Cabin C609 was in the Mid Aft position, slightly aft of the ship’s center. This spot offered easy access to some of the ship’s key areas, including the pools, dining rooms, and entertainment venues. Plus, it was in a position that allowed us to feel very little motion from the waves. The P&O Azura is a large ship, but being on Deck 10 made it easy to get around without taking too many stairs or elevators. There were cabins both above and below us, so we didn’t experience any unwanted noise. Also, it is worth noting that C Deck has the largest ‘standard’ balconies on the ship, see the full tour of Balcony Cabin C609, on our YouTube channel here: Watch our Room Tour.

The Cabin Itself
When we first entered, we were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the cabin. It had ample room for our family, offering enough space to move around comfortably without feeling cramped. The decor was bright and welcoming, though slightly dated compared to newer ships. Nonetheless, it was in excellent condition and had a neutral color scheme, giving the room a relaxed vibe, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the Canary Islands and Madeira.
The Bed
We had the king-sized bed made up as two twin beds, which worked great for me and my son. The beds were incredibly comfortable with soft linens and plenty of pillows, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after busy days of sightseeing.
Storage Space
The storage in Cabin C609 was impressive for a cruise cabin! The walk-in wardrobe area was a major plus, offering lots of storage and hanging space. It also provided a private area to change, separate from the main cabin. We had plenty of drawers and cubby holes for our smaller items, so we didn’t have to live out of our suitcases. There was also a safe in the room to store valuables.
Bathroom
The bathroom was compact but well-designed. It featured a good-sized shower with a shower curtain, a sink with ample counter space, and plenty of shelves for storing toiletries. We were also provided with plenty of towels, which were changed daily if left in the shower tray. The bathroom amenities included The White Company shampoo and shower gel, which added a touch of luxury.
Private Balcony
One of the highlights of this cabin was its private balcony. Being on the Canada Deck (Deck 10), it was one of the largest balconies available (besides suites), offering plenty of space for relaxing or sunbathing. We also booked the adjacent cabin (C611) next door, as we were travelling as a group, so we asked the cabin steward to open the connecting door on the balcony, allowing us to visit the cabin next door easily without going through the corridor. Waking up to the sound of the sea and the beautiful views of the Canary Islands and Madeira was truly magical. The balcony had a table, chairs, and footstools—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine while soaking in the scenery.
Amenities & Extras
This cabin also featured a flat-screen TV (though it was small), with a solid selection of channels and movies. Wi-Fi was available for an additional charge, but we found it far more relaxing to disconnect and simply enjoy the cruise experience. The cabin also had tea and coffee-making facilities, which were a great touch for those early morning brews, whether in bed or on the balcony.
Cruise Vibes: The Valentine’s Cruise of the Canary Islands and Madeira
Being on board during the Valentine’s Cruise made the experience extra special. The festive atmosphere on the ship included plenty of activities and events tailored to couples and families. We particularly enjoyed the themed dinners and the entertainment in the Theatre.
Our visits to destinations like Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Madeira were unforgettable, and returning to the comfort of Cabin C609 after each excursion was the perfect way to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.
